Bringing Out the Badboy in Tito Ortiz

'Huntington Beach Badboy' Tito Ortiz

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito "The Huntington Beach Badboy" Ortiz was recently taken into custody at the Huntington Beach Police Department, according to representatives at the jail that spoke to news reporters shortly after the incident in Orange County, California.

The fighter, who was arrested on April-26th 2010, was still being held in lieu of $25,000 bail, which at the time of the call had not yet been posted.

H.B. Police responded to the residence of Ortiz and his famous pornstar girlfriend Jenna Jameson on Monday, and according to notes from the call made to police as confirmed by the O.C. Register, "a boyfriend had pushed his girlfriend down" and several units quickly responded to this call for possible felony domestic violence.

At that time no official charges had been filed against Ortiz, but Jameson was reported to have claimed that she planned on pressing formal charges in the matter. She was also seen later in the morning exiting a local O.C. drug store with a bandage on her right arm as she carried the couple's small child.

Ortiz, who last fought in the UFC in 2009, was taken away in handcuffs and promptly processed at the Huntington Beach Police Department.

UFC president Dana White also spoke to TV reporters on Monday and said "we're gonna be fair, but we could cut him."

TMZ.com reports that they were told that when police arrived on the scene Jameson had “visible injuries,” although TMZ did not cite the source declaring the injuries.

According to TMZ.com, “We're told someone called 911 today at 9:53 AM and reported a serious ‘disturbance.’ Tito is currently in custody and on his way to a Huntington Beach jail in Orange County, CA.”

TMZ has uploaded videos of Ortiz being taken away in a police car and a tearful Jameson saying that she is okay, but verifying that she does indeed intend on pressing charges. TMZ also spoke with Jameson on her way out of town, saying her version of what led to Tito's arrest is brutal.

Jenna claims that during an arguement on that Monday morning "she said something hurtful to his ego" She alleges that Tito then grabbed her and "threw me into the bathtub and tore two ligaments in my shoulder." However, Tito's attorney strongly denies that, saying, "He did not put his hands on her, he did not hit her, he did not do anything to her. Tito never touched Jenna."

He continued to claim Tito found pills in Jenna's pants pocket and when Tito confronted her, she had "an emotional meltdown" and became unstable.

Tito and his attorney both claimed that Jenna has been hooked on Oxycontin and her recent relapse is what led to the alleged violence between them. Tito's attorney also stated that Jenna's been battling her addiction to the notorious painkiller for over a year now, and that Tito and family members have been protecting her.

Tito has also said, "My parents have gone through addiction and I'm not going to let my family go through that." His pornstar girlfriend has been to rehab for prescription drug abuse before, and her addiction has led to multiple documented suicide calls to 911.

Jenna has said that Tito's allegation is "completely false" and that this is "the last nail in the coffin" for their relationship.

Meanwhile, Ortiz is a coach opposite Chuck Liddell on the current 2010 season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality TV series. The two were expected to fight in June, following the series, but that fight has been now been nixed. Liddell has since been scheduled for a bout against Rich Franklin at UFC-115 in Vancouver, Canada. Ortiz has been very cryptic in postings on his official Twitter account over the past month or so, mentioning some challenging issues in his life that news sources indicated were attributed primarily due to an ongoing plague of health issues.

This report saddens us here at AMAM-MAGAZINE.COM, as we've grown to admire Tito Ortiz and his obvious kindness towards our publication in recent times, we certainly hope that his latest troubles will be resolved in the appropriate manner for all parties involved.

Although, no further statement had been issued by the Huntington Beach Police Department about this...one can expect to hear more on this matter from the "Huntington Beach Badboy" very soon.
